How to transition your wardrobe for winter

Welcome to my page! This is my first post and I am super excited! People have always been so complementary of my style & been asking me to share my style advice to them so I figured I finally do it!

Winter is definitely here. Or, if you live in the South, like myself, some days it feels more like spring. Crazy weather! Nevertheless, we have to be prepared for the winter weather and still look stylish. Below are some tips on how to easily  transition your wardrobe for winter/fall. All easy and affordable tricks!

1.Layer, Layer, Layer! Layer with long sleeve tops under dresses. Wearing long sleeved shirts under dresses is another way to make the transition to winter dressing.

2. Color Palette.

Its all about darker hues and tones. The color of leaves and of the season.Colors such as brown, greed, orange, black, navy, tan.  More earthy tones. The addition of a deeper color tones down the brightness of your summer wardrobe, resulting in a more fall/winter appropriate outfit. So look to nature for inspiration

3. Make a statement!

Invest in a statement jacket or blazer that will up your outfit.

4. You can still rock those maxi dresses.

Maxi dresses are perfect transition pieces. you could almost say they’re better suited to this season since they cover so much of your body. Make sure that the colors and prints aren’t extremely bright. And throw on one of your STATEMENT jackets over one!

5. Who says you have to get rid of florals?

The key is to stick to darker florals as they will generally blend in more easily with your winter wardrobes

6. Add tights.

A fun way to play with patterns or color. And they very affordable. If not into tights pair with leggings Perfect to wear under your more summery tunics.

7. Accessorize!

Accessorize with fall accessories like hats or scarves to any outfit.

8. Rock that white!

And then you don’t have to give up white just because its cooler.  That is such an outdated and out of trend rule. As long as it not white linen you are good to go. Just pair with darker tops and accessories.

9. Boots or Mule it up.

Now I am personally not a boot lover. I hate for my feet to feel confined. Very Weird. So, I love the more stylish mules. Boots are an ideal item to stretch your wardrobe. Try with a summer dress worn with knee-high boots and a leather jacket.

10. Structure, Structure.

Stick to structure when it comes to transition and choosing outfits. Which means having those key basic fall/wardrobe staple pieces. Like the jackets, blazers, hats, scarves, etc. It doesn’t have to be the most expensive items you can still be fashionable on a budget. Trust me I am the biggest bargain hunter.
